Founded in 1977, Cataract steel is a family owned & operated company based in Niagara Falls, NY. Cataract Steel does not have a “ Size A, B or C” heat exchanger in a standard catalog. Cataract designs e very heat exchanger to specifically fit the job requirements. Cataract will rebuild or refurbish existing heat exchangers.
Cataract Steel builds shell & tube heat exchangers from 6” to 12 feet in diameter, and up to 30 feet in length.

- From 3/8" diameter to 2" diameter tubes
- Straight tube, U-tube & floating head designs
- Bare-tube, low-fin, extended surface & cyclonic sprial tubing available
- Single pass & multi-pass
- Bonnet or Channel Design
- Removable and fixed-bundle designs available
- Certifications include: API, ASME Section VIII Div. 1, China Code, Korean Code, TEMA B, C, & R
- Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Hastelloy, Admiralty Brass, Titanium, etc.
- High-pressure Applications - up to 3,000 PSI
- High-temperature Applications - up to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit
